Surprise that the Cavs were swept by the GSW. I am among those who think that if the Celtics were playing instead, they would have played better than the Cavs. At least they wouldn't give up. People blamed the sweep on game 1, but it's only an excuse. Even if JR had called timeout, there was no guarantee that they would have scored, and we all know how they performed in the OT. Besides, they were close in game 1, then why would they lose the morale? Unless in their hearts, they had really admitted that they were the underdogs and had little chance to win at the end! We have seen that teams who lost by dozens in one game, then turned around and won by dozens in the next game. Playoff games were 3 days apart and each game was really a new battle with different morale. If the GSW had lost the first 2 games to the Cavs, I am sure they would have continued to fight hard. We have seen how teams like the Celtics and the Rockets all played to 7 games and never gave up! I didn't see the same with the Cavs. Their morale sucked. I think their coaching staff, and to some extent, LBJ , have to be blamed for that.... |
